Nowadays there are different kinds of hub motor conversion kits on the market for people to choose to convert their bike to an e-bike. Compared to buying one new e-bike, the kits can save a lot of money.

How to choose a right hub motor conversion kit for your bike?

1. The very traditional kit has a separate motor, battery, controller, e-brakes, display, PAS.  For these kits, you usually spend at least one hour to install it. Also, there are many different wires you may not know very well that can be very confused sometimes.

2. Considering a fast the installation, the all-in-one e-bike conversion kit comes out. This kit can help people install it very quickly, like 60 seconds and do not have too many wires, easy to install. But the problems are

A. The battery, controller, and motor gather all in one, will have a heat dissipation problem.

An electric bike biker knows that after riding the e-bike with the motor for a while, the motor and battery sometimes can be hot.

B. As all the parts in the motor that makes it very big and heavy and also have an unbalanced center of gravity in the front wheel ( normally these type of kits are all front wheels)

C.  The battery capacity is too small due to limited space, which not satisfy people who want a long range.

Is there a hub motor conversion kit that could be installed easily and fast, without worry about the heat and battery capacity?

ELECYCLES promote the EEKit conversion kit system which is a half wireless kit system.

- Only two waterproof cables to be connected (motor to the controller, throttle to the controller)

- The normal size of the motor in the front wheel to keep a lightweight

- 36V 5.2Ah/ 7Ah LG lithium battery

- Wireless LCD display

- Do not need the PAS and electric brakes

With this system, people accuracy can convert their bike to e-bike in one minute. First change the front wheel, second install the battery and LCD display, third connect the two wires. Then that is all. People can also download the app on the phone to change the limit speed of the motor, the max speed is 32km/h under the throttle but for some countries, as the limit speed according to the law is 25km/h.

(2)The price is lower compared to other hub motor kits.

(3)Different Rim and tires for choice, 16", 20", 24", 26", 700C, 27.5", 29", with different tire width such as 1.75", 1.95", 2.125" etc.

(4)Could choose different types different capacity battery just with compatible voltage and current.

Cons

(1)The installation is complex, needs a long time to confirm all the cables and connect all the parts- motor, battery, controller, display, PAS, E-brakes. For a new starter, it is hard to complete the conversion.

(2)Before installation, you need a controller cables diagram, then check whether all the parts cables could match the controller cable. Note that anyone cable connected wrong will lead to a failure.

(3)The cable's connector which the waterproof function is weak.

(4)The power assistance depends on the assist level on LED/ LCD and the rotate PAS, sometimes it is not sensitive nor stable.

(5)When choosing a battery, need to confirm the battery voltage and current are compatible with the kits, and the battery cable connector matches the controller.
